The “model explosion” problem is real: frontier names turn over weekly, plus Cognition’s own Sol/Terra/Luna stack and reasoning-effort knobs. A router that picks by task, latency, quality, and cost is exactly what Adaptive and the Desktop picker are aiming at—if they stay honest about tradeoffs instead of forever-defaulting to whichever model is loudest on social.
